Camping at the beach, mountains, desert, parks, lakes, etc.
You can camp year round in San Diego. The beach campgrounds are
always full in the summer so you should make reservations ahead of
time if you will be there in the summer. There are many great public
and private campgrounds for tent and RV camping, both in the city
limits and within an hour's drive. This is an inexpensive way to
stay in San Diego and enjoy the natural beauty of Southern
California. I recommend South Carlsbad State Beach (on a cliff above
the ocean, stairs to the beach, no hook-ups, $12/night and San Elijo
State Beach (pictured left) on the beach, hook-ups, $18-12/night, or
for RV's only: Silver Strand (on Coronado Island).
For mountain camping, I recommend Cuyamaca State Park (snow in
winter), about 4,700ft., 40 miles east of San Diego. Full in Summer,

Private campgrounds include Campland at the Bay in Pacific Beach
(tent and RV camping on Mission Bay), close in to the city, nice
view, expensive, bayside beach.
No, the reunion won't be the return of Chas Gayheart and
Jim Freeman to the mornings! Though I sure do miss those
two cats. The reunion will be a relationship that has been
lost for a couple of weeks. Now the burning desire to
restore their love is here. (Am I writing a romance novel
or a weather blog?)
For roughly about two weeks we have avoided the
combination of heat & humidity. Just when it looked like
the humidity was about to reunite with its old friend,
WHAM, it was pushed back to the south along with the
higher temperatures. Now the heat has found the way back
to Kentucky and the humidity is lurking in the darkness,
waiting for the perfect time to ambush all of us! The
problem here has got to be the fact that this 85-90 degree
heat we have seen this week is very uncomfortable. So just
be ready for more of this and eventually the higher
humidity.
What about Fay?
The question of the day is Fay! I have watched as the NHC
has pushed this storm further south over the last few
days. One of the models has Fay turn all the way around
and meander in the Gulf before riding up the east coast.
So what I am to do now? The only thing I can say is what I
said yesterday, Let's wait and see what Fay does once
she re-enters the Atlantic. I remember back when Jeanne
was out in the Atlantic and basically sitting in one spot
for days before the steering winds were strong enough to
send her towards the Florida East Cost.
With this path being pushed closer and closer to the Gulf
I am beginning to wonder if and when we could see some of
the beneficial rains from Fay. Again, let's see what she
does after heading over the Atlantic again!

I wanted Sonic but I
couldn't find it for sale when I was
at Best Buy yesterday so I ended up getting Wario Ware.
The Best Buy had just opened up that day so I managed to
snag another Wii remote and another classic controller, as
well as a organizer tray to hold everything.

At first it was an either/or
choice: stay-at-home
motherhood –
or "real work" alongside men. But
as time
went on and
women seemed
disinclined to give up their
biological imperative, word came down that we could have
it all – work and motherhood – and
outclass men
at the
same time.
"How do you do it all?" people ask me. All I can say is
that my capacity has grown with each child. I've learned
to assess situations quickly, gather information and
advice, negotiate, delegate, communicate clearly, and work
under great pressure and with little sleep.
I've seen those pictures of Palin nursing her baby as she
signs a bill into law and as she pushes a grocery cart.
Moms understand that those photos might well have been
taken just a few hours apart. That's the kind of life we
lead.
Can she do it all? Trust me, there are lots of moms out
here who know she can.

My friend Melissa from
Sandiego CA came to visit. I was so excited to see her. It
had been like a year and my life has been too crazy with
moving and a new job which also means no vacation time so I
couldn't do much visiting with friends BUT Lisa came to

Antique square grand piano built by Emerson Piano
Company of Boston. This fine instrument is solid rosewood and has a
rebuilt keyboard. It will need tuning and some pedal adjustments but

and some elbow work to restore that nice patina. The Emerson company
existed for only about five years in mid to late 1800's. This
instrument is stamped with serial # 1S267.
